Movement in Illinois calls for Freedom of Information documents on wind turbines

Dear all,

In Illinois, there is a movement to call for documents related to wind turbine propaganda… below. I think this is useful for all of us to pursue. Rather easy to do, and may have far reaching implications. I would extend the FOI to all Ministries of Education and as below, all active wind producers in their/our areas.

Sherri Lange

Pursuant to the Illinois and federal Freedom of Information Acts, we hereby request copies of documents and records, as defined in the Acts, that relate to any of the following:

  • Pertinent sections of any textbooks or other teaching materials for educating students or teachers about wind energy, including but not limited to teaching materials, handouts, presentations or other teaching aids;
  • Any communication between a wind-energy company or advocacy group (including but not limited to the entities listed below) and the school or any of its affiliates (including but not limited to administrators, teachers, employees or members of the school board);
  • Any communication between a governmental agency (including but not limited to Illinois State University, ISU’s Renewable Energy Center, University of Illinois, Western Illinois University, the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S.D.A., National Renewable Energy Laboratory, or the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity) and the school or its affiliates regarding wind energy; OR
  • Funds or other forms of support received by the school or its affiliates to support educational efforts and activities related to wind energy.

This request is being made for non-commercial purposes on behalf of members of Illinois Wind Watch, an unincorporated grass-roots association of Illinois citizens and citizens’ groups that stand for responsible energy policy. For more information about IWW, please see
Yours truly,
